Terms of Service
Last updated June 29, 2026
Agreement
By creating an account or using Hearthstone you agree to these terms. If you're using it on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
The service
Hearthstone provides hosted tools for nonprofits, schools, shuls, and similar organizations to manage donors, students, families, messaging, and bookkeeping. We may add, change, or remove features from time to time.
Trial and billing
New organizations receive a 14-day free trial. A valid credit card is required to start the trial but is not charged until the trial ends. After the trial, your plan renews at the rate listed on the pricing page until cancelled. Setup fees and add-ons are charged as disclosed at the time of purchase. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
Acceptable use
- No unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive use.
- No sending of communications that violate anti-spam or telemarketing laws (CAN-SPAM, TCPA, CASL, etc.). You are responsible for obtaining recipient consent.
- No attempt to reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the platform.
- No uploading of content you don't have the right to upload.
Your data
You own the data you put into Hearthstone. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process, back up, and display it so we can run the service for you. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Third-party services
Hearthstone integrates with services like Google, Stripe, Plaid, and phone carriers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms; we are not responsible for their actions.
Termination
You can cancel anytime from the billing settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that pose a security or legal risk. On termination you can export your data for 30 days; after that we delete it as described in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hearthstone disclaims all warranties (merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement). We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hearthstone's total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are material we'll notify you by email or in-app. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
